Braintree's new Citizens Advice Bureau was opened by its longest serving volunteer who has been helping people for 22 years.
Teddie Huggan, who is in her 70s, first started volunteering at the CAB in Halstead in 1993 and moved to the Braintree office, spending 12 years as a general adviser before moving on to doing a mixture of reception work and triage.
She took early retirement after moving to Braintree from North London but soon found that she was getting bored in the winter.
She followed in her cousin’s footsteps, who was volunteering at the CAB in London, and has never looked back.
