THE mum of a schoolboy who was stabbed to death will present a 50,000-name petition to 10 Downing Street tomorrow.
Caroline Shearer, from Clacton, launched the Only Cowards Carry charity after teenage son Jay Whiston was murdered outside a house party in Colchester in 2012.
About 50,000 people have signed a petition calling for weapons awareness education to become part of the national curriculum in secondary schools.
The campaign raises awareness of the dangers and consequences of carrying knives or other dangerous weapons.
Mrs Shearer will deliver the petition to Downing Street with Colchester MP Will Quince tomorrow lunchtime.
