ENTERPRISING students put their skills to the test as they raised money for charity.
The group of students on the skills in enterprise course at Colchester Institute laid on the entertainment Festival Friday as part of their work towards their Level 2 qualification.
Fellow students and staff enjoyed stalls packed with cakes, sweets and popcorn as well as a chocolate fountain.
Beauticians also helped out offering hand massages to boost the coffers.
Shelley Gwyn-Jones, course leader, said the students’ skills were tested by the event – including reacting to the inclement weather.
She said: “They were due to hold it outside, but there was torrential rain.
“They adapted to the challenge well and brought everything into the college foyer.
“The event allowed them to get hands-on business experience using their skills.
“They did a fantastic job and raised £150 for Great Ormond Street Hospital which they are delighted with.”
