THE line-up for this year’s Bures Music Festival has been announced by organisers.
And once again the five-day event looks set to have something for most music lovers.
This year’s headliners include Jo Harman, who was last year’s Female Vocalist of the Year at the British Blues Awards, and Bee Gees tribute act Jive Talkin’, a full, seven-piece band who’ve been touring worldwide for 25 years.
Other musical highlights to look out for this year will be another British Blues Award winner, Marcus Bonfanti, and London-based ska band the Kubricks, who produced a storming set at the Bull in Colchester recently.
Also appearing will be guitarist with Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel, Robbie Gladwell, Stretch Soul Gang and jazz singer Tina May.
The festival opens on the Wednesday, July 8, with the Kelvedon Singers performing an evening of choral music in St Mary’s Church.
On the following night the church once again plays host to the jazz night, while in the Big Top the annual B Fest showcase for your musicians takes place.
The Friday will see a whole host of blues acts, while Saturday and the Sunday is made-up of a mixture of tribute acts and top notch bands.
New for this year is the Big Top, which replaces the white marquee, plus the running of music all day on Saturday.
Since the festival began in 1997, the festival has raised almost £170,000 to charities and other good causes, and this year organisers are hoping for the same.
