A WOMAN was injured when she was thrown from her seat after a bus she was travelling on was forced to brake hard to avoid a collision. 

The woman, aged in her sixties, was on a First Bus when it was forced to brake when a silver car pulled into its path .

As a result, she was thrown from her seat and suffered serious shoulder injuries. 

The incident happened at about 11.22am on Tuesday, May 12 at the junction of Wimpole Road and Barrack Street, in Colchester. 

Investigating officer Pc Nick Luff said: "A silver vehicle pulled across the path of the bus causing the driver to brake hard.

"The woman sustained fractured bones around her left shoulder, a dislocated shoulder and a bump on the head.

"She is still receiving medical treatment and is having nightmares and cannot sleep. She is also scared of travelling on buses again.”
