A group of academy pupils held a protest about the lack of choice over GCSE subject options.
Fifteen Year 9 students at New Rickstones Academy, in Conrad Road, Witham, took a stand by meeting in the school grounds on Wednesday for ten minutes.
The students, who were concerned about a variety of subjects being cut from the curriculum, then decided to return to lessons and discuss their concerns with staff at breaktime.
Subjects such as music, dance and computer sciences have been axed from the curriculum due to too low pupil numbers, it is believed.
