TEMPTING line-up is on the menu for this year’s Colchester Food and Drink Festival.

The event, set to attract more than 20,000 people, will take place on Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28.

Now in its 12th year, organiser Don Quinn said the Lower Castle Park festival is set to be bigger than ever.

“We get tens of thousands of people a day and this year is going to be quite spectacular.

“We have got more stalls than we have ever had, so much so, we are trying to extend it into the former bowling green area.”

A band will be playing inside the beer tent and other live music will also be performed throughout both days.

Tasty treats on offer will range from Spanish cuisine to Moroccan and Mexican, not forgetting British favourites and seafood, including lobsters.

Champagne, prosecco and cocktails can be supped at the event’s new bar and budding baristas can learn how to make the perfect cocktail.

The Pikestaff Inn real ale bar will feature a range of ciders and lagers.

A celebrity chef kitchen will be performing throughout the day.

Donkey rides will be on the entertainment menu, amongst the attractions for children.

About 130 stalls are confirmed to take part so far.

Inside the festival will again be the Colchester Rose Show, which also has craft and culinary classes.

The festival is open from 10.30am to 7pm on the Saturday and 10.30am and 5pm on the Sunday.

Tickets cost £3.50 for adults and there is free parking in Kings Meadow.
