Passenger numbers at Stansted Airport has topped 21 million in one year for the first time since 2009.
In April, more than 1.9million travellers passed through the airport, an increase of just over 10 per cent in the same month last year.
It was the busiest April at Stansted since 2007.
Andrew Harrison, Stansted’s Managing Director, said: “The strong growth of passenger numbers in April maintains the positive upward trend Stansted has experience over the last two years, and has enabled us to break through the 21 million passengers a year milestone just three months after passing the 20 million passengers a year total."
