THE Old Firestation was loud, wild and full of rock music fans as Lower Than Atlantis performed in Bournemouth last night.

For a sell-out gig, masses of young hipsters filed into the venue on Holdenhurst Road with their best comfy shoes ready to jump up and down and mosh to the hardcore pop-rock music.

In a similar style to band, My Chemical Romance, but with less black skinny jeans and gothic make-up, the songs are less fun and bubbly and more intense and emotional.

Joined by two support acts, Pvris and We Are The Ocean, ticket-holders were visibly keen to be there and cheered with delight when the four gentlemen came onstage, to the tune of Star Wars, no less.

Here We Go, Criminal, Emily and English Kids in America were just a few of the tracks played during the gig.

They performed on the small stage in the intimate venue with an impressive series of flashing coloured light set-ups behind them, which added impact on the more drum-heavy, head banging numbers.

Having heard them numerous times on Radio 1, I decided to head along to the Lower Than Atlantis gig for a night of music which deviates away from the cheery pop music I normally listen to.

Collectively the band are great performers as well as fantastic musicians and they didn't disappoint their fans who may normally have to head to a festival field to see the group.
