READERS have chosen their winners for this year’s Gazette WinaWedding competition.

Tammy Smith and Tom Cheek were named the winners after readers voted for them in their droves after hearing their story.

The pair will now tie the knot at Playgolf, in Colchester, and enjoy a package worth £12,000.

Tom, 31, of Silver End, said the pair are thrilled.

He said: “I have to keep pinching myself.

“I really didn’t think we would win. We took part inaMr and Mrs Quiz and we practically got all the questions wrong – and we’ve known each other for 12 years.

“Winning means everything.

Without it I don’t think we would be marrying for another 12 years.

“We have two beautiful children and no one tells you children and saving don’t mix.”

Tom popped the question on Tammy’s 30th birthday two years ago–completely surprising her.

Tammy, 31, is now getting ready to try on wedding dresses before picking the one for the big day on September 11.

Tom, said: “September 11 really isn’t far away.Ican’t wait.”

As well as having their wedding at Playgolf on the house, they have also won themselves a DJ, a cake, wedding rings, aphotographer to cover the event and a wedding dress and groom’s wear.

Ken Renouf, of Premier DJ, which will be providing the music, said: “Premier DJ would like to congratulate Tammy and Thomas on winning and we are really looking forward to providing one of our wedding disco packages to round off their special day.”
