More than £1,000 was raised for Essex Air Ambulance during a sponsored walk along Witham’s river banks.
Fourteen walkers enjoyed glorious sunshine as they strolled along the three mile River Walk stretch from the Maldon Road park to Chipping Hill and back again.
It is the eighth annual walk organised by the town’s rotary club to raise money for charity.
Town mayor Janet Money came along to see the walkers on their way.
Brian Olley, the club’s public relations officer, said: “It was a lovely morning and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves.
“We were well supported by St John’s Ambulance.
“The River Walk is well appreciated in the area and to use it to raise money for Essex Air Ambulance is ideal.”
