Police visited primary school pupils in Kelvedon to warn them of stranger danger.

Youngsters studying at Kelvedon St. Mary’s Primary Academy, in Docwra Road, met PC Clare Bailey and Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Terrie Johnson on Monday when they held safety workshops at the school.

The officers, both from the Braintree Neighbourhood Policing Team, spoke to the children about stranger danger and reminding them on how to stay safe, especially on the internet.

PC Bailey added: "Workshops like these allows us to build relationships with local schools and parents, keeping them informed about what police are doing in the area to keep them and their children safe.

"We reminded the children on the simple rules of staying safe, especially during the summer holidays when they are out and about playing outside with friends.”

PCSO Johnson said: "By engaging children and young people in schools, we can teach children the importance of safety and letting them know that officers are always here to help – we spoke about what a safe stranger is and how they can ask for help if they need it.”
