A PUBLIC meeting will take place about charge increases to boat owners.

The Brightlingsea Hard is run by the Harbour Commissioners, but owned by Brightlingsea Town Council.

The commissioners want to charge some boat owners more to launch vessels from the area.

Alan Goggin, town councillor with special responsibility for the waterside area, said fees are dependent on the size of boats and their engines and can be applicable annually or on a oneoff basis. He said the maximum increase for a boat owner was £30 a year.

The meeting will take place at the parish hall in Victoria Place at 7.30pm on Monday.
