TWO Colchester Institute students are to take on a skydive for a children’s charity.
Natasha Cook and Alicia Gibson, both 18, will throw themselves out of a plane for the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity in June.
The duo are also hosting a music evening on Saturday to raise money for the charity.
Natasha, of Harbour Crescent, Harwich, said: “We wanted to raise money for something child orientated because I am studying to be a teacher and I am doing work at Chase Lane Primary School.
“We wanted a charity which worked with families.
“A skydive is something we both really wanted to do. We both looked into it and decided to do it for charity. It is a bit of a different way to raise money.
“I have never done anything close to a skydive before, but I am looking forward to it.”
The girls have already raised £400 for the charity and have set themselves a target of collecting £1,000.
The music event featuring band Fox and the Trots and a DJ will take place at the Waterfront, on Lower Marine Parade, Dovercourt, on Saturday, from 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £5 from the Waterfront or can be bought on the door. Raffle tickets are £2.
The skydive will place in Norwich on June 30.
