A TEENAGER has been the victim of crime in Colchester three times in two years.

In the latest incident, Callum Ness, 19, of Old Heath Road, had his motorbike stolen from his home.

The 125cc grey bike, worth £4,500, was taken on Wednesday, March 4.

While police are appealing for information, Callum’s mum, Kim, is fed up with the level of crime in Colchester.

In 2013, her son’s pedal cycle was cut from a lock and stolen.

Last year he was held up by a masked gang and threatened with a gun.

Five hooded robbers got out of a car in Distillery Lane and two teenagers, including Callum, were threatened and ordered to hand over their wallets and phones.

Both victims were pushed around. Neither was physically injured, but both were left terrified by the ordeal.

The motorbike, which the teenager used to get to work at Tesco, Highwoods, is one of a number stolen in Colchester in recent weeks.

Mrs Ness said: “The bike was locked up. He had saved some money up for it and got a finance deal, which he still has to pay without having the bike.

“We heard, since his was stolen, lots have been taken.

“These are brand new bikes.

Someone is targeting them.

“He has been a victim three times now and all he does is work hard.

First his push bike was taken, then he was held up in Distillery Lane and now this.

“We all feel a bit fed up.”

A police spokesman confirmed a grey Yamaha motorcycle had been stolen in Kendall Road, at about 10.30pm on Monday, March 2, and Callum’s bike had been taken in Old Heath Road between 7.30pm and 10pm on March 4.

Another bike is believed to have been stolen in Wimpole Road on Monday, March 9.

Anyone with information about thefts or who saw people acting suspiciously in these areas at these times can call Colchester police station on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
