A BOY aged 15 has admitted attacking a family who were mourning a stillborn baby.
The incident occurred at Highwoods Country Park in Colchester on July 23 when a father, along with his three children and a family friend, were releasing balloons in the park following the funeral of a baby girl.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted three charges of causing actually bodily harm when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.
He will be sentenced at Colchester Youth Court on March 25.
Janine Jackson, 27, of Hickory Avenue, Colchester, pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault connected to the same incident.
Her case was adjourned and she will appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on July 17.
She was granted unconditional bail.
Ross Barnham, 23, denied two charges of actual body harm and Ben Barnham, 21, entered no plea to the same charges.
Both were granted unconditional bail and they will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on May 18 for a plea and case management hearing.
