A man has died after being hit by a train at Kelvedon station.
The incident, which involved the 9.30am Ipswich to London Liverpool Street service, has caused delays between Colchester and London Liverpool Street.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “We were called to Kelvedon station shortly after 10am to reports of a person being struck by a train.
“Colleagues from Essex Police and East of England Ambulance Service also attended, but a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and our officers are now working to identify the man and inform his family.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
An Abellio Greater Anglia spokesperson said: "Train services in the Kelvedon area have been disrupted since 10am because of a person struck by a train.
"Network Rail and emergency services attended this incident and both lines reopened at 11.50am.
"There will be some delays and alterations to train services into the afternoon as a result.
"We apologise to passengers for any inconvenience this may cause."
