Parents of a young boy who died of cancer have submitted a claim against a second hospital.
Four-year-old Mackenzie Cackett died in May 2012 after he was diagnosed with a spine tumour.
He had successfully fought a brain tumour the previous year, after undergoing radical proton therapy in Florida.
His parents Danielle and James Cackett, of Juniper Close, Halstead, have already submitted a claim against Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust, because they said there were delays in diagnosing the secondary cancer in his spine.
They have also submitted a claim against Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.
Darren Conway, of solicitors Slater and Gordon, said: “There is also a complaint against Addenbrooke's.
"The complaint is that it failed to carry out the correct follow-up when Mackenzie returned from Florida."
A spokesman for Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Addenbrooke's, said: "There has been an investigation, externally run by Colchester in which we have also been involved.
"We can confirm that the solicitors have approached the Trust."
The Colchester hospital trust has previously expressed its condolences to the Cacketts and said it would be inappropriate to comment further while the claim is being dealt with.
