DETECTIVES are searching for a man following a suspected stabbing in Colchester.

Police sealed off a house in Military Road, Colchester.

Officers and the ambulance service were called to the property around 1.40am today following reports of violence.

A 43-year-old man was taken to Colchester General Hospital with stab wounds to his hand.

It is not yet clear if he was trying to defend himself or if the hand was the target.

The injuries are believed to have been caused by a knife.

It happened by a property run by homeless charity The April Centre.
