A MUM has criticised the “callous” owner of a greyhound for laughing while it savaged her daughter’s beloved cat, then walking away.
Sophie Jones, 15, has had Sunny since he was born eight years ago and he is part of the family.
But at about 7pm on Tuesday she watched on as he was brutally attacked outside their Titania Close home in Greenstead.
The dog picked the cat up in its mouth and shook it.
Sophie and mum Jean Patterson tried to rush Sunny to the vet, but he died before they could get there.
To make matters worse, Mrs Patterson claims the dog owner made no attempt to stop the attack or keep it on a lead.
Instead he swore at them before walking off laughing.
