BLOOMING marvellous!

Members of the West End Bowls Club in Fitzgilbert Road, Colchester, are celebrating after they hit the target in the Anglia in Bloom awards.

The club won the category for the best individual/community floral display in this year's prestigious awards beating shortlisted finalists from Great Yarmouth, Hunstanton, Whittlesea and Ware.

Club president Vere Churchyard said: "It is absolute fantastic. We are over the moon."

Mr Churchyard paid tribute to all the volunteers who kept the garden bright and beautiful including Nigel and Jenny Roberts, Ann Wright and Roy Lang.
