Search underway for missing person in water at Ardleigh Reservoir
A SEARCH was launched for a person thought to have gone missing in the water at Ardleigh Reservoir.
Emergency services were called to the reservoir, in Lodge Lane, at 4.25pm on Saturday.
A spokesman for Essex County Fire and Rescue service said two crews from Colchester and the Urban Search and Rescue team were called to the site.
“Firefighters searched the reservoir using a rescue boat with two Essex County Fire and Rescue Service search and rescue dogs," she said.
“The police and RAF helicopters searched by air for the missing person.
“Crews made a thorough search of the surface area and no one has been located.
“It is believed to be a false alarm.”
The search was called off shortly before 6.15pm.
