An official report is warning traffic jams and tailbacks are inevitable when a new housing estate is built.

Persimmon Homes has submitted a formal application for 358 homes at Wyvern Farm, off London Road, Stanway.

The estate will include a combination of one to four-bedroom houses, including 72 affordable homes, and 704 parking spaces.

Sceptical residents voiced their concerns about potential traffic chaos at a recent public exhibition held by developers.

Now a full transport assessment has been carried out by Richard Jackson Engineering Consultants.
