Gazette: New health chief’s £45k for 3-day week New health chief’s £45k for 3-day week

THE new chairman of Colchester’s troubled hospital trust will be paid £45,000 a year for three days work a week.

A job advertisement has been placed for the successor to Dr Sally Irvine, who will quit in September after four years in charge.

Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust was placed in special measures in November after it was revealed staff had altered patient records to hide missed cancer targets.

The advert states: “With improvement work well under way to address concerns raised recently by regulators, the trust is undergoing a dynamic programme of change.

“As incoming chair, you will have the opportunity to shape your board leadership team whilst continuing the drive to deliver the vision of providing safe, effective and personal healthcare for every patient, every time.”

75k for a full week then. Peanuts for running an organisation with a budget in the billions and the issues it has.
If you think that's overpaid you haven't a clue.
