A MAN died on his way to the Elton John concert in Colchester.

The man, aged in his 60s, was travelling on a bus from Ardleigh to the Weston Homes Community Stadium when he suffered a cardiac arrest.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: “We were called at 6.09pm on Sunday to reports of a cardiac arrest.

“We received several 999 calls.

“People on the scene were giving CPR.

“We sent two ambulances and an ambulance officer.

“We arrived at 6.22pm and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Our thoughts and condolences go to his family and friends after this tragic incident.”

As the son of the man who passed away on the bus on the way from the park and ride at Ardleigh to the Elton John concert both my Mother, My Partner and I would like to thank the members of the public, the bus staff, the park and ride staff and the ambulance staff for everything they did to try and save my father. Every time I read this it brings tears to my eyes he was a good grandad and always forever will be god has decided to give him a new home up above we are all going to miss him very much he will never be forgotten RIP grandad forever loved and forever missed by all the family and friends
