A HAUL of jewellery was stolen from a bungalow close to the junction of Gun Hill and Ipswich Road, Langham.
Ingersoll and Lacroix watches, plus a ruby eternity ring, gold ring and diamond bracelet were stolen between 1.30pm and 4.30pm on Friday.
The items were worth at least £1,000.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen suspicious activity in the area and particularly want to hear from anyone who saw a black mark 2 or mark 3 Vauxhall Astra in the Gun Hill area.
Dc Trevor Clark at Colchester CID said: "This car was seen parked close to the location and due to the rural surroundings local residents have commented about it, as they do not think this was car that they usually see in the area."
