A CONCERNED son has hit out at the state of pavements in Dovercourt saying they are being left dangerous and a hazard to the elderly.
Dave Rutson, of Highfield Avenue in Dovercourt, said his street has some particularly bad cracks and holes, which have already caused a number of falls.
He said: "There is a hole outside my mothers that was deemed as not requiring immediate repair.
"She is 90-years-old and the pavement outside her home isn't fit for purpose."
An Essex Highways spokesman said an inspection was carried out on June 12.
He said: "A number of defects were identified and one which was causing concern locally has been visited by our engineering team and booked for repair."
