LITTLE ones have marked their school’s 25th birthday.
Older kids at Highwoods Community Primary School, in Tyndale Square, took part in a sponsored walk through Highwoods Country Park, while the infant children walked within the school grounds.
The milestone was also marked with a giant cake, a choir performance and a kite making and kite flying event for the whole school.
The school was opened in January 1989, with 55 children and ten staff, by head Cathy Dowsett.
There are now 445 children on roll and 60 staff, led by Nigel Hookway.
Money raised by the sponsored events, on Friday will be used to help pay for a new iPad suite.
