COLCHESTER United reporter Jonathan Waldron gives his analysis ahead of the big match between England and Italy in Brazil.
"Roy Hodgson wants his England side to attack Italy in their World Cup opener on Saturday night.
"It is an admirable sentiment but time will tell if that is the right approach, particularly given the likely temperatures his players are expected to encounter in Manaus.
"A top priority will be to stop Italy veteran Andrea Pirlo from dictating play. But with this side, England have their own players who can make a difference.
"With that in mind, the fitness of attacker Danny Welbeck, who enjoyed an influential game against Honduras last weekend, might well prove crucial."
