THE family of a boy who died of leukaemia are putting on a fundraiser in aid of the charity which sent him on his dream holiday to Florida just months before he passed away.

Michael Hamilton, who lived in Colchester, died in September 1995, aged just nine.

The Make a Wish Foundation organised for him and his family to go on the trip in the April of that year.

Now his family are arranging a fancy dress charity night at Greenstead Social Club, on August 2, to raise cash for the foundation in his memory, but they still need help to make the night a success.

Gill Nolan, Michael’s aunt, is looking for anyone who is willing to volunteer their time on the day.

She is particularly appealing for a children’s entertainer.

She said: “We’re trying to raise as much money for the charity as we can.

“It is a fantastic charity and we are just trying to pay them back.”

The evening, which will begin at 7pm, will include raffles and auctions.

Anyone who can help should email gill_nolan@hotmail.com or call 07837883922.
