A RECONSTRUCTION of Jim Attfield’s last known movements on the night he was brutally murdered will be shown on BBC’s Crimewatch tonight.

Jim was stabbed more than 100 times and found in Castle Park shortly before 6am on Saturday, March 29.

Detectives are still trying to piece together the events leading up to his death.

Crimewatch will feature the reconstruction, which was filmed last month, on tonight’s BBC One show at 9pm.

It will include an interview with Jim’s mum.

Detective Chief Inspector Simon Werrett said: “Our investigation is progressing but there are still gaps we need to fill in about Jim's movements and I am sure there are other key witnesses out there who we have not yet spoken to.

“I am very hopeful that tonight's broadcast will give those people, with the information we need, the impetus to come forward and speak with us.”

A £5,000 reward is still on offer from the charity Crimerstoppers, for anyone with information which leads to the conviction of the murderer.

Anyone with information should call Essex Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

A man and a woman, both aged 27 and from Colchester, are on police bail until July 9 after being arrested in connection with the murder.
