GUIDE dogs were given thousands of pounds to help with their training.

Sainsbury’s, in Priory Walk, Colchester, handed over £3,500 to charity Guide Dogs after it was selected as the store’s charity of the year.

The money was raised using staff and shopper donations over the last year.

The money will be used to train guide dog puppies.

A new charity of the year will be selected by staff at the Priory Walk shop.
