BURGLARS stole a grey Audi A8 after they broke into a home in Colchester.

Two suspects entered the back garden of the property in Hamilton Road overnight on Tuesday, via a bolted gate.

They then entered the home through the back door and took the car keys.

Mobile phones and a handbag were also taken.

But strangely they left a wheel barrow, taken from the back garden and left it in place of the Audi A8.

A Sainsbury’s ‘bag for life’ was also found abandoned on the driveway and contained alcohol and packets of meat.

These did not belonging to the victim.

Property relating to the burglary was recovered in Prettygate Road and De Vere Road, Colchester, by vigilant members of public.

With these items, was other property not belonging to the victim.

However the car has not been recovered.

Anyone with any information, or finds any further discarded property, knows who is responsible or witnessed suspicious activity in the area is urged to contact T/DC 1992 Andrea Ford, CID - Colchester on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
