A 91-year-old man who launched a petition to improve rural bus services after experiencing cancellations has been advised to check Twitter for updates.
The Gosfield pensioner, who uses a mobility scooter and asked not to be identified, drew up a petition asking for better services in the area after a First bus driver recently passed him at a bus stop.
He also alleges regularly he is regularly told he is not allowed on the buses, because they cannot take his scooter.
The petition has been signed by more than 30 villagers.
Halstead MP Brooks Newmark has now complained to the First bus group and said the company needed to “up their game” in their duty of care to the elderly.
