STAFF and students at a Colchester college turned out to promote the idea of going green.
Colchester Institute held its first Bee Green Day, which is focused on making the campus more sustainable.
It also aims to pass on eco ideas to members of the public.
During the free event, students gave out free massages while staff joined them on the “juice bike”, which made healthy smoothies for visitors.
There was also a vintage clothes fair and a farmer’s market.
Tracey MacRae, head of commercial services at the college, said: “It was an amazing day and we are planning on making it an annual event.
“The aim is to ensure staff, learners and the public are given a great deal of information on how to be more sustainable.
“The college is always looking forward in that sense and we’re looking forward to this becoming an annual event.”
