A GROUP of avid England fans have created their own World Cup song to back their country’s bid for glory – using Walton as the backdrop for the video.

The band of Londoners have been penning catchy tune Welcome to Brazil for several months alongside their day jobs.

After recording it last month they decided to shoot a video and jumped on the train to Walton.

The town’s landmarks including the beach and Naze Tower feature prominently in the video, which has already been seen nearly 2,000 times in just a few days online.

Band member Jonny Matfin, 32, said: “It’s very much a homemade effort. We’re not a professional band, just a motley crew of friends who wanted to have some fun doing this."

The group spent two days recording in the town, shooting footage in the High Street, at the Naze and along the seafront.

The track is on YouTube and can be downloaded for £1 at http://welcometobrazil.bandcamp.com.
