Long queues on the A12 northbound due to broken down lorry

Drivers are being asked to find an alternative route due to long delays on the A12

The Highways Agency is warning of queues on the northbound carriageway between Feering and Marks Tey due to a brokendown lorry.

The Essex County Council travel feed is reporting that one lane is closed and the queues are all the way back to Sandon.

Good job I was travelling the other way! What a ridiculous situation. One vehicle can cause so much trouble. I thought there was a 'team' to sort incidents out like this. It would be interesting to find out just how long it took for the authorities to sort this. How about another truck towing the said vehicle to a lay-by?

It wasn't just a broken down truck, it was also a series of other accidents caused by the total idiots who insist on swapping lanes without warning, just because the other lane is moving, and end up getting side swiped, there were 3 sets of these, and then near Marks Tey a lorry had shed it's load. net result almost 2.5 hours to get from Chelmsford to Colchester. A great start to the evening.
