Hanningfield to face Lords suspension

SHAMED peer Lord Hanningfield faces suspension from the House of Lords over allegations relating to his parliamentary expenses.
Lord Hanningfield, who was jailed in 2011, has defended his right to claim a £300 daily attendance allowance, despite reportedly spending little time in Parliament.
A national newspaper said the Lords Privileges and Conduct Committee was set to recommend suspending him from Parliament until the next general election and ordering him to repay some of the money he had claimed.
It reported the peer had tried to justify his actions by saying he needed the cash to hire a man to look after his poultry while he was in Westminster.
