DAMAGE was caused to a primary school building after an attempted burglary.

Thieves attempted to gain access to All Saints primary school in Great Oakley between 5pm on Monday April 21 and 7.30am the next day.

A window in a side door was smashed at the school on Beaumont Road but no entry was gained and nothing is believed to have been taken.

Police say £500 of damage was caused.

PC Steve Baldwin said: "Although the they did not get in the cost of the damage is estimated at £500 and I would very much like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity on the school grounds or nearby between the relevant times.”
