A TOWN centre CCTV camera has been plunged into darkness after street lights were incorrectly turned off.

Streetlights at the top of Kingsway and Marine Parade, in Dovercourt, should never have been turned off as they are under the watchful eye of CCTV, it has been claimed.

Tendring councillor for Harwich east central ward, Garry Calver, said: "It's unacceptable for CCTV cameras to be left in the dark.”
