Riddle over cash stuffed in letterboxes in street

Gazette: Riddle over cash stuffed in letterboxes in street Riddle over cash stuffed in letterboxes in street

MOST of us can only dream of someone giving us hundreds of pounds out of the blue.

But Lesley Quilter, 58, is going crazy trying to work out who sent her £200, without a note or any explanation.

Her neighbour in Wickham Road, Colchester, was also sent £100.

The plot thickened when Mrs Quilter’s brother-in-law, who used to live in the road, also received a letter containing £200.

He moved to Fingringhoe in 1979.

In all three cases, they received envelopes containing the cash in the post.

Mrs Quilter, who works at Colchester’s BHS department store, said: “I was shocked when I opened it.

“It is driving us nuts because we have no idea who it is."
