Detectives are trying to trace a woman who challenged three suspected burglars.
It is thought the woman confronted them in Braeburn Road and they left and walked up Coach Road towards West Bergholt.
The men, described as of Eastern European appeaerance, are being linked to a burglary in Coach Road, Great Horkesley at 9.45pm on April 10.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "The men were seen on the driveway of a house.
"Thieves had gained entry to the house by smashing a rear door to the property.
"Once inside an untidy search of the property was made and a number of items were taken including a Lenovo B570E, 15 inch, black and grey laptop, and two gold signet rings, a gold bracelet, gold cufflinks, a silver ring with an amber stone, and a wedding ring."
Two of the suspects were around 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in tall, and wearing dark clothing.
The third man was around 5ft 7in tall and wearing a light coloured top.
PC Bryan Heath said: "I have not yet traced this woman and would ask her to call me as I believe she could have valuable information for our investigation.”
