A MAN wearing a pink thong flashed at a group of teenage girls.

Essex Police have appealed for information following the incident on the lower promenade between Clacton Pier and Albany Gardens.

A man approached a girl, 16, and her friends shortly after 6pm on Monday and made inappropriate gestures after taking off the thong in front of them.

Investigating Officer, PC Keith Rowland, said: "Thankfully, the young girls were very sensible and took steps to move away from this man, not really knowing what his intentions were but they were left very shaken by the incident.

“We’re looking to speak with those people who were taking an evening stroll on that day and who saw this man when he had been wearing his thong or the moment he indecently exposed himself to the girls.”

The man is described as white, was wearing a grey T-shirt and was barefooted.

Anyone with information in connection with this indecent exposure is urged to contact investigation officers at Clacton police station on 101.
