A TEENAGER who appealed against his 26-year prison sentence for the brutal murder of a musician in Colchester was told he deserved every day of it.

Jack Hummerstone, 19, stabbed Thomas Brittain, 26, at least nine times after kicking his way into his flat, in Parkside Quarter, in March last year.

In September last year, he was convicted of murder and sentenced to a minimum of 26 years, at Chelmsford Crown Court.

Yesterday, his appeal against the length of his sentence was heard, but he was told by three top judges he deserved everything he got for the “extremely serious” killing.
