A MAN brutally stabbed his girlfriend to death because he thought she was cheating on him, a court heard.

Mark Czapla, 24, is accused of stabbing Kirsty Humphrey six times and leaving her on the blood-soaked floor of their flat in Queen Elizabeth Way, Colchester.

Czapla – who denies murder – was arrested at his dad’s house and answered “no comment” to all questions.

Christopher Paxton, opening the prosecution at Chelmsford Crown Court, said: “He was jealous and became enraged with Miss Humphrey.”
