A MAN was robbed in a field in Colchester in broad daylight.
Detectives are appealing for two women who came to his aid after the attack to come forward.
At about 2.40pm, on Wednesday, March 19, the victim was approached by two men in Hillyfields, off Lexden Road.
He was pushed to the floor and then punched and kicked before his wallet and iPhone 5C were stolen.
Det Con Claire Jennings said: "The victim approached a young woman for help moments after the robbery and she may have seen the suspects.
"Another woman also came to the victim's aid and offered him her mobile phone to call police.
"I am keen to speak to these women and would also like to hear from any other people who were in the area at the time.
"This is an area popular with dog walkers and joggers so I am hopeful that someone may have seen something or the suspects in the area."
The suspects are white.
One is around 6ft tall, slim and has a thin face.
He had short dark hair and was wearing dark clothing.
The other is 5ft 8in tall, of slim to medium build with brown hair and a light coloured top.
Anyone with information call Det Con Jennings at Colchester police station on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
