MORE than 150 campaigners, residents, funders and builders celebrated the longawaited rebuild of a community hall with a party.
They gathered at Aldham Village Hall, in Green Road, to mark the end of seven years of fundraising and building work.
The old hall had been held up by steel poles since 2007 due to rotting roof timbers.
The village, led by a fundraising committee, raised £40,000 for the project and was awarded grants of £106,500, allowing work to start last October.
Brenda Brown, who was part of the fundraising committee, said: “We can hardly believe that finally we have made it.”
