Detectives who are trying to piece together the unexplained death of a Colchester man have released CCTV images of two people they believe could help their investigation.

The body of Wayne Tidd, 33, was found in his flat in Creffield Road, Colchester, at about midday on February 28.

He was the son of Denise Tidd, who was murdered in Kendall Road, Colchester, in 2009.

Gazette:

His death is unexplained, but is not being treated as suspicious.

A post-mortem failed to establish a course of death.

More tests have been carried out, and the results are due in May.

Police want to speak to two men, who they believe were his friends, to try and learn more about his life.

Senior Investigating Officer, DI Leighton Hammett, said: "We’re still trying to understand the type of lifestyle Wayne led and so are hoping that these men, whom we believe to be friends, will be able to complete our enquiries.

“We think they were with him during the evening and early hours of Monday going into Tuesday, February 18.

“We think they are from the nearby homeless community.

“We would like to stress that they are not involved in Wayne’s death, just that they may know his last physical movements.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
