BURGLARS made off with hundreds of pounds of computer equipment after ransacking a home in Harwich.

The crooks smashed their way through a back door of a home in Canning Street between 8am and 7.50pm on Thursday.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Once inside they carried out a messy search and stole an XBox with sensor and controllers, worth £250, and 15 games, worth a total of £375.

“Grey stone cufflinks and perfume were also taken.”

Anyone who saw anything suspicious, or who has been offered similar items for sale, is asked to call Det Con Bernadette Lord, at Clacton CID, on 101.
