A NEW campaign has been launched to create 100 new apprenticeships in Colchester in 100 days.

The Gazette, Colchester Institute, and Sir Bob Russell MP have joined forces to set up the new scheme, which was officially launched yesterday.

It aims to find 100 new apprenticeships for local young people in the next 100 days – starting today (Wednesday).

It will run until June 12.

Alison Andreas, acting principal and chief executive at Colchester Institute, said: “The aim is to provide yet more opportunities for local young people to develop the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to start or advance a successful career in a particular trade or area of work.

“It is also a fantastic opportunity to further extend our highly valued network of local employers, to build the skilled workforce they need for the future”.
